MLHS End Of The Season

TEAM UPDATES

6/15/20262 min read

The end of the season came quickly! Looking back, it is amazing to see all that this team accomplished in such a short period of time. The 2026 season will be remembered as one of the most successful in Mayer Lutheran golf history. Our girls team earned a remarkable 2nd Place finish at Sections, the program was recognized as the Section A Academic Champion, and we had five MLHS golfers qualify for the State Tournament. These achievements did not happen by chance—they were the result of hard work, commitment, perseverance, and a dedication to improving every day.

While the accomplishments on the course are impressive, the true success of this season was the collective effort of all 28 players who represented MLHS golf. Every practice, every round, every encouraging word, and every teammate pushing another to improve helped build the culture that made this season possible. We are also incredibly grateful for the support of our parents, families, coaches, and fans who invested their time and energy throughout the season. Your support allows our student-athletes to compete, grow, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The future of MLHS golf is bright. We are a young and talented team with tremendous potential, and this season showed what can happen when preparation meets opportunity. The next step for our program is continuing to develop our skills, strengthen our mental game, and raise the standard even higher. The foundation has been built, and there is every reason to believe that even greater accomplishments are ahead.

As we head into the offseason, remember that improvement does not stop when the season ends. Take advantage of opportunities to practice, play, and compete whenever you can. Work on your short game, spend time on the putting green, and continue to develop a consistent swing. When winter arrives, find a simulator, practice facility, or indoor space and keep swinging the club. Small improvements made during the offseason often become the difference-makers during the season. The 2027 season will be here before you know it, and the work you put in now will determine where your game is next spring.

A special thank you goes to our seniors as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. Your leadership, commitment, and example helped shape this program and set the tone for those who follow. You have left a lasting impact on Mayer Lutheran golf that extends far beyond scores and tournaments. The friendships, work ethic, sportsmanship, and memories you created will remain part of this program for years to come.

The great thing about golf is that it is a game you can take with you for the rest of your life. Whether you continue competing, play recreationally, or simply enjoy a round with friends and family, the lessons learned through the game will continue to serve you well. Thank you for everything you have given to MLHS golf. You leave behind a legacy of excellence, character, and achievement, and you have helped position this program for an exciting future.

Congratulations on an outstanding season, and Go Crusaders!

Have a great Off Season
